Day 30 : #reverb10 : Gift

December 30 – Gift
Prompt: Gift. This month, gifts and gift-giving can seem inescapable. What’s the most memorable gift, tangible or emotional, you received this year?
(Author: Holly Root)

I will break this post up in 2 parts. The tangible and emotional portion.

I am a little obsessed with vintage toys. When I found out that Target was exclusively selling the 1970s version of the Ficher Price toys ; especially the Record Player I was excited. Forget that I am in Canada and there are no Targets here… this was a task I was not gonna fail at. So I started the search for those toys. I went to Burlington and Plattsburg with Mavi and my sister and of course we made a stop at the closest Target. First place I went to, the kids section. Unfortunately there were no more record players, but my dad and sister did get him 2 other toys. The Chatter Phone and the Change-a-Tune Piano

Even though Mavi is too small to play with these toys, I really hope he will enjoy these classics when he will be old enough. My family gifted him the toys at Christmas. But not only did he get those 2 toys, my friend got her hands on the record player. You have no idea how freaken excited I was. No clue!

Then my sister also got her hands on the Snoop’ n Sniff. Whoot Whoot! My mom remembers how much we loved the -Rock-A-Stack when we were babies, and wanted to gift her grandson one, so he also got that at Christmas. Spoiled much?! I think so.

So Mavi is the proud owner of 5 ficher price toys. 4 that are the classics untouched versions from the 70’s. I can’t wait to play with him.

Now for the emotional version of a gift. That would be the gift of Life. Cheesy I know, but it’s so very true. The fact that I created another human being is beyond me. It’s a blessing, a miracle and the very best gift anyone can ask for. I love my son more than you can really know (unless you already have kids) it’s an indescribable feeling and makes you question why you didn’t have babies before. It’s like you have a whole new life. You learn to live all over again. And this picture pretty much sums it up. Our first family picture when Mavi was only a few minutes old, and I was beyond exhausted. hehe.
